The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA)

The U.S.-Japan Council is proud to collaborate with The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). One of the Council’s flagship programs, the Japanese American Leadership Delegation has been co-sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2003. Partnership Programs Include:
Japanese American Leadership Delegation The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership sponsor this one-week delegation program to Japan of outstanding Japanese American leaders selected nationwide to meet with key Japanese leaders in government, business, culture, academia and the non-profit sectors, and to participate in a symposium open to the Japanese public.
Meeting of Ambassador, Consuls General and Japanese American Leaders Held regularly in the United States, this forum brings together Japanese American and Japanese leaders to discuss issues of mutual concern regarding the long term strengthening of the U.S.-Japan relationship.

Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership (CGP)

The U.S.-Japan Council is proud to collaborate with the Center for Global Partnership (CGP). The organization was established within the Japan Foundation in April 1991 with offices in both Tokyo and New York. CGP promotes collaboration between Japan and the United States with the goal of fulfilling shared global responsibilities and contributing to improvements in the world's welfare. The organization also works to enhance dialogue and interchange between Japanese and US citizens on a wide range of issues, thereby improving bilateral relations. To carry out its mission, CGP operates grant programs in three areas – intellectual exchange, grassroots exchange, and education.

The Japan Foundation CGP continues to support the JALD program by funding reunion programs for JALD Alumni. Recent reunions took place in San Francisco and Hawaii.
