Council Members Yumi Kuwana and Kathryn Ibata-Arens with Ambassador John V. Roos and TTC contestants in Tokyo, Japan.
A number of organizations contributed to organizing the event, including the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, IMPACT Japan, the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan, the British Council, the MIT-Enterprise Forum Japan, Japan Market Expansion Competition, Venture Generation, the U.S. - Japan Council, J-Seed Ventures and 5ive Planets. C. Jeffrey Char of J-Seed Ventures, a UE-LAB member and supporter of TTC winners and entrepreneurship in general stated: “TTC is a great example of the ‘pay-it-forward’ spirit that is so prevalent in Silicon Valley. Ambassador Roos has been instrumental in fostering this culture in Japan. He has been a huge supporter of entrepreneurs in Japan, and thanks in large part to his efforts, up-and-coming ventures like NanoMist Technologies and YOAKE Rice Burger are receiving well-deserved attention.”
