Will the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo dampen Hawaii tourism?

All eyes will be on Tokyo in 2020, as thousands of athletes and spectators flock to the Japanese capital for the Summer Olympic Games, but how will it affect Hawaii, whose tourism industry relies heavily on Japan visitors?

At a discussion panel at the 2014 U.S.-Japan Council Annual Conference on Friday, Yumi Yamaguchi, vice commissioner, Japan Tourism Agency, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Japan, said the Japanese government plans to break tourism records in 2020.
