Join this unique opportunity to explore how Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are emerging as multi-purpose solutions for climate mitigation and adaptation, the preservation of biodiversity and the creation of a new economic market. Our esteemed panelists include Hiroetsu Aoyama, Director for Environment Policy Office, Ocean and Environmental Policy Division, Ports and Harbours Bureau at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Japan; Ken Haig, Head of Energy and Environmental Policy at Amazon Web Services (AWS); and Allison Lewin, Director of Climate Change Partnerships at The Nature Conservancy. This exceptional panel will be moderated by Yuki Isogai, Lead Partner, Sustainability Center of Excellence at PwC Japan.

This webinar will provide participants with an understanding of what NbS are and their potential outcomes and benefits (e.g. carbon offsets, economic opportunities, sustainable livelihoods and other social, environmental and biodiversity benefits). It will also explore how to promote investment in the field, including establishing a credible market, and shed light on what gaps need to be filled in order to fully realize the benefits of NbS at different scales (e.g. local vs regional). Speakers will draw from practical examples of NbS in the Asia-Pacific and abroad.

This event is part of the USJC Climate and Sustainability Initiative, supported by the initiative’s Founding Strategic Partner, Amazon.
