The Silicon Valley Japan Platform held its monthly Benkyokai on May 4th, helping to shed light on the Decentralized Web and the Metaverse and why NFTs (non-fungible tokens) are taking the digital world by storm. Guests were provided an introduction to the Decentralized Web and how it differs from “Web3”by Wendy Hanamura, Director of Partnerships at the Internet Archive, one of the world’s largest digital libraries. Included in the discussion was Jin, a hacker artist and VR developer exploring the convergence of web, gaming, social networks, and decentralization. Jin joined the webinar as his avatar, providing a tour of the Metaverse by taking the SVJP community on a virtual journey through immersive, interconnected worlds.
