Ms. Hiraoka is the former President & CEO of Keiro, a not-for-profit organization based in Los Angeles dedicated to advancing the quality of senior life, with a focus on the Japanese American and Japanese-speaking community. She has an extensive background with non-governmental organizations and associations, as well as mainstream and advocacy journalism. She was a founding partner of Integrated Media, a marketing and communications firm in Washington, DC, and formerly Vice President for Points of Light, an international nonprofit advancing volunteer service and corporate social responsibility. She served on the executive staff of the National Education Association from 2002-12. She serves on the board of the Japanese American Citizens League DC chapter and previously served on the editorial boards of the Pacific Citizen and the Brussels-based NGO Education International. She serves on the advisory board of Breezio, an enterprise software company advancing member engagement services through online platforms. She received a B.A. in biology from Pomona College. She was a member of the 2014 JALD delegation. She serves on the USJC Communications Committee and has been Committee chair since 2016.
