Join us for a session on the power of Planned Giving on Wednesday, January 8. Please note that this is a hybrid event and attendees are welcome to attend virtually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This second workshop will feature Mr. Takeshi Hayasaka and Mr. Gary Moriwaki, two tax experts from Japan and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will share their expertise on the tax implications of making a bequest and taxation rules on inheritance, as well as address questions from USJC members with diverse backgrounds. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of planned giving fundamentals through case studies of cross-border scenarios in Japan and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takeshi Hayasaka<\/strong>
Tax Accountant and Administrative Scrivener, Hayasaka Tax Office<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

Mr. Takeshi Hayasaka was born in Yokohama, Japan. He was registered as a tax accountant in 1997. He holds two master\u2019s degrees in economics, and finished a doctorate course at Kanto Gakuin University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Hayasaka specializes in the accounting and taxation of nonprofits. He currently serves as a member of the financial committee of Amnesty International Japan and an auditor of Japan NPO Center and OurPlanet-TV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to accounting and taxation services, Mr. Hayasaka\u2019s office has also offered consultation services for those interested in nonprofit management and led the acquiring of tax benefit status for more than 100 nonprofit organizations since 1997.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Gary S. Moriwaki has more than forty years of experience in estate planning and administration. His clients include domestic and foreign business owners, professionals and executives from a spectrum of industries. Mr. Moriwaki is well-versed in advising clients who have complex, multinational issues involving ownership of assets in multiple jurisdictions, domestic and foreign estate and inheritance taxes, choice of laws and succession concerns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a member of various charitable organizations, Mr. Moriwaki is experienced in charitable giving techniques and the formation and operation of private foundations.
