The Business Advisory Board (BAB) provides a platform based in Japan to integrate business leaders from diverse fields including government, academic and non-profit sectors to expand people-to-people connections to strengthen ties between the United States and Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event will include a keynote speech and networking dinner. We are honored to welcome Mr. Gerald L. Curtis, Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Columbia University and Chairman of the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Columbia University and Chairman of the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation, Professor Curtis has authored numerous books and articles in both English and in Japanese. His work deals with topics such as Japanese politics, society, foreign policy, and U.S.-Japan relations. He is a recipient of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star, the Japan Foundation Award, as well as other honors. Professor Curtis has held appointments at the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London, the College de France in Paris, and the Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore. He has also worked for Keio University, Waseda University, and the Graduate Research Institute for Policy Studies in Tokyo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He serves on the Board of Directors of the Japan Society of New York and the Japan Center for International Exchange, Counselor at the U.S.-Japan Council, and member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is currently the Executive Global Advisor and Visiting Professor at Tokyo Metropolitan University. Last December, his autobiography “Watashi no Rirekisho (My Personal History)\u201d was serialized in the Nihon Keizai Shimbun.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
