On June 10 (Japan time), the Silicon Valley Japan Platform hosted its 2022 Annual Reception at the International House of Japan. Approximately 40 guests participated in the evening reception, including executive officers from SVJP\u2019s member companies, Executive Committee members and Advisors. For many, this was the first in-person gathering since last year\u2019s hybrid Kyoto Retreat in November 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reception began with opening remarks from Ms. Ayako Inoh, SVJP Japan Director, followed by a toast from Mr. Tatsuo Higuchi, President & Representative Director, CEO of Otsuka Holdings, Co., Ltd.  The guests were treated to a video message from SVJP Co-Chair, Dan Okimoto and his wife, Michiko Okimoto, as well as an introduction of the new members by Mr. James Kondo, SVJP Co-Chair and Chairman of the International House of Japan. Mr. Takayuki Morita, President and CEO of NEC, welcomed the new members on behalf of the SVJP member companies. An update on SVJP\u2019s Entrepreneur Program and future activities was shared by SVJP Executive Committee member, Mr. Teruhide Sato and current Entrepreneur Member, Mr. Shintaro Yamada, CEO of Mercari, Inc. All of the guests enjoyed a highly energetic evening of reconnection and engagement with old and new SVJP community members.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
