This prestigious opportunity offers participants:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Round-trip transportation to the USJC Annual Conference in Honolulu<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hotel accommodations and meals during the program<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full conference registration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, selected participants will receive a complimentary one-year Associate Membership to the U.S.-Japan Council, a designation typically extended by nomination and invitation only. Participants will gain access to exclusive ELP alumni programming and USJC events throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Criteria &amp; Eligibility<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates for the Emerging Leaders Program should be <strong>Japanese American professionals<\/strong> who meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Age:<\/strong> 24\u201335 years old at the time of the Conference<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Citizenship:<\/strong> U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Residence:<\/strong> Residing in the United States or Japan, with the ability to travel to Honolulu for the Annual Conference<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Passion for U.S.-Japan relations:<\/strong> Demonstrated through professional, academic, extracurricular, or community involvement<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Leadership:<\/strong> Proven leadership experience in professional or community settings<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Commitment:<\/strong> Dedication to remain actively involved in U.S.-Japan Council programs and initiatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>In making final selections, the Council will consider diversity of geography, gender, and professional background.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important Dates<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Informational sessions led by ELP alumni (<em>optional<\/em>)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Session 1 &#8211;<strong> <\/strong>June 12, 5:00 &#8211; 6:00 PM PT<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Session 2 &#8211; June 18, 5:00 &#8211; 6:00 PM PT<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Application deadline:<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>June 29, 2025, 11:59 PM PT<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Application review period: July-August<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notifications: Mid-August via email&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pre-Conference Orientation (virtual): September 11, 4:00 PM PT<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usjapancouncil.org\/annual-conference\/\">2025 U.S.-Japan Council Annual Conference<\/a>: October 13-17 in Honolulu, Hawaii<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post-Conference debrief (virtual): November 13, 3:00 PM PT<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*Optional informational sessions will be conducted via Zoom and require sign-up. A <strong>PDF packet<\/strong> including documents 1-3 below will be required, as well as a <strong>short introductory video<\/strong>.
