As Washington Secretary of State, Hobbs created the Information Security & Response Division, which defends the election system from the threat of cyberattack, provides county election administrators with security support, and strengthens our partnerships with experts in national security and cyberwarfare. Hobbs received his Master’s of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College in 2025; he is also an alumnus of the University of Washington, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in political science and a Master’s of Public Administration.
