The U.S.-Japan Council Pacific Northwest Region hosted its fourth gathering of business leaders from southwest Washington Japanese corporations. They convened for a reception welcoming the Honorable Consul General Yoichiro Yamada of the Japanese Consulate in Seattle, who was making his second visit to Vancouver, Washington.

Former mayor of Vancouver Royce Pollard and current mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle attended the event, as well as leaders of Furuno, Kyocera, Ohtomo Chemical, and SEH America. Members enjoyed a presentation by Consul General Yamada on current events in Japan and the consulate’s work to assist divorced Japanese women, particularly those with American children.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Portland Regional Chair Verne Naito for putting together this event.
