The TOMODACHI MetLife Women’s Leadership Program (TMWLP) concluded with a ten-day virtual trip to the United States. TWMLP is a ten-month women’s leadership training program for Japanese university students with the aim of developing the next generation of future female leaders.
The objective of the trip is to increase the groups’ awareness of different leadership styles, expose students to pathways for global careers, and hone their presentation and networking skills to help them pursue their future goals. The trip concluded with a Final Presentation Day, where each group of five presented their ideas by answering the question: “What will the world be like in the future?” Participants shared what kind of leader they wanted to be in the future and why. All ten groups were confident, informative and impressive to watch. Otsukaresama deshita! The top three teams will present at the TMWLP Annual Conference over a weekend in May. The TMWLP Annual Conference is the culmination of the program, where the participants celebrate their hard work over the past ten months.
