Chieko Tashiro started her career as a reporter and editor for an English newspaper and magazine. She went on to work for Japan’s national broadcaster as a program researcher.
She has worked in a global PR agency as a consumer marketing and PR team leader, providing PR planning and execution for consumer products in the Japan, Hong Kong, China, USA, and UK markets. Before joining USJC, Ms. Tashiro was a Director of Communications for an international luxury hotel, managing media interviews, SNS contents, and all information about the hotel. Not only is she responsible for communicating to a variety of Japanese audiences, but she also worked on a few CSR programs during her career, which led her to pursue women’s leadership and SDGs which USJC offers with many programs. She has an Associate degree from Seattle Community College and learned communication at Washington State University via distance learning.
