USJC members on the West Coast gathered for a virtual happy hour/brown bag on April 10. Hosted by Seattle Regional Chair Danielle Higa, members from various West Coast regions gave updates on how their respective region is responding and adapting to the coronavirus pandemic. Staff provided updates about USJC activities, including the status of upcoming events and future webinar programming. Board members Tasha Yorozu and Joshua Morey also shared how the Board is supporting USJC as it navigates these challenging times.
Many attendees also shared warm memories of President Irene Hirano Inouye and reflected on how she inspired them both professionally and personally. Some had known her for decades, long before the inception of USJC. Others had never met Irene directly, but had the opportunity to get to know her through her legacy and these heartfelt stories.
Similar programming is being scheduled in other regions, including a Washington, DC members brown bag on Thursday, April 23.
