Shin-Issei Networking returns as a series of 3 interactive sessions on themes that are close to “shin-isseis.” The event starts with a mini-panel to kick-start the conversation, followed by a breakout to discuss the topic in a small group setting. The discussion will start in English, and depending on the participants’ comfort level, we may shift to using more Japanese in the breakout rooms.

Have you come across content that you feel is misrepresenting Japan? Like it or not, people form opinions about Japan through the media they consume. We as recent immigrants collectively have opportunities to provide a more nuanced and balanced view of modern Japan in our communities. How can we do this job well? We’d like to hear about your experience and learn from each other
