On January 5, 2023, Hawaii members celebrated the New Year at the Pagoda Restaurant, owned by Duane Kurisu (JALD ’10). The event was also a chance to thank former Chair of the Board Paul Yonamine for his exemplary work and accomplishments at USJC. Special guests included State of Hawaii Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke (AALD ’14) and State Representative Troy Hashimoto (ELP ’22). The event was organized by USJC board member Yoh Kawanami and Hawaii Region Chair Emi Au, and assisted by Vice Chairs Kristin Alm Kamakahi (ELP ’20), Mitch Noguchi and Courtney Takara (ELP ‘ 20). A fun time was had by all!
