Japanese American/Japanese Nonprofits Affinity Group Holds Inaugural Meeting

On July 25, the Japanese American/Japanese Nonprofits Affinity Group held its inaugural meeting over Zoom. Attendees tuned in from across the country and were comprised of individuals who either work or have an interest in the JA/JPN non-profit field. The meeting began with participants warmly introducing themselves and their affiliated organizations. A discussion led by President and CEO Suzanne Basalla followed, where attendees were able to discuss how members of this affinity group can become resources to each other as they navigate the non-profit sphere. Potential topics to be discussed in later meetings included fundraising practices, staff retention and the best practices they have learned working within this community. We at USJC are excited to see this developing affinity group continue to grow!
