USJC Convenes American and Japanese Business Leaders to Discuss a Sustainable Future

On November 3, USJC convened American and Japanese business, NPO, and city government leaders in Houston to assess opportunities for building a more sustainable future together. President & CEO Suzanne Basalla joined the discussions, which were organized under the leadership of Legacy Council Member Donna Cole and Council Leader Ginger Vaughn.

The Greater Houston Partnership hosted the seminar. The seminar included a debriefing of the recently completed Houston Trade & Investment Mission to Japan and presentations by Council Leader Christine Harada, Executive Director for the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council, about federal resources available to help expedite permitting of energy and sustainable project development contemplated by Japanese and local companies. Thank you to Consul General of Japan in Houston, Mr. Hirofumi Murabayashi, for offering welcome remarks and participating throughout the program as well.
