On April 27, the U.S.-Japan Council (USJC) hosted a hybrid event, “Government Briefing: A Conversation with SEC Commissioner Mark T. Uyeda” at the Salesforce Tableau Software building in Washington, DC. The event brought together nearly 40 sponsors and industry leaders for a fireside chat with Council Leader Mark Uyeda (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, JALD ’04). Council Leader Fred Katayama (U.S.-Japan Council, JALD ’23) emceed and moderated the evening`s discussions, which were held under Chatham House rules.
Hugh Gamble (Salesforce) welcomed the participants in his opening remarks. Mr. Katayama then introduced Commissioner Uyeda and led an in-depth chat on topics that ranged from the Silicon Valley Bank fallout to cryptocurrencies and climate risk disclosure. The informal discussions were followed by a Q&A session. The evening concluded with a brief meet-and-greet networking reception.
