Administrative and Accounting Manager Position Description
Employer: The U.S.-Japan Council
Title:  Accounting and Administrative Manager
The U.S.-Japan Council (http://www.usjapancouncil.org) is an educational 501(c)3 non-profit organization that promotes U.S.-Japan relations and is currently seeking an administrative and accounting manager who can comprehensively manage Council’s office operations.  The organization is focused on building people-to-people relations, through the leadership of Japanese Americans nationally and internationally, who connect American and Japanese leaders and industry experts to strengthen U.S.-Japan relations.
  
Responsibilities:   
Accounting:  
Maintain Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and payroll.  Prepare monthly financial report and review with the President and Treasurer.  Quarterly financial reporting to the Board of Directors. 
Provide support for the annual audit.
Budgeting: 
Prepare annual organizational budget.
Maintain budget versus actual report.  
Periodic review of the organizational budget with the president and treasurer.
Make adjustments to the organizational budget.
Prepare program budgets in coordination with Program Manager and Director.
Human Resources: 
Maintain personnel files.  
Provide orientation for new and departing employees. 
Benefits administration.
Liaise with payroll vendor on HR issues (experience with PayChex a plus).
Compliance: 
Maintain both federal and local regulatory compliance.
Ensure compliance with office building rules.
Administration:
Supervise Administrative Assistant and Interns.
Maintain insurance and contracts.
Maintain contact with the landlord.
