What is the Advanced Leaders Collective?

A Mid-Career Program Rooted in Self-Discovery and Connection

The Advanced Leaders Collective (ALC) is a signature program of the U.S.-Japan Council (USJC), tailored for mid-career professionals aged 35 and above. Rooted in USJC’s commitment to strengthening U.S.-Japan relations through leadership and collaboration, this is an opportunity to explore the intersection of personal and professional growth alongside a motivated group of mid-career leaders. This cohort-based initiative is more than a leadership program, it’s a transformative journey that prioritizes self-awareness and authentic connections over traditional metrics of success. In a world where professional roles often overshadow personal identities, ALC serves as an opportunity for individuals to reconnect with their core values and passions. By fostering deep interpersonal relationships and promoting self-discovery, the program cultivates leaders who are not only effective in their fields but also deeply attuned to their communities and cultures.

A Space for Growth, A Home for Leaders

Bridging Cultures and Generations

ALC offers a nurturing environment where participants are encouraged to delve deep into their personal and professional narratives. Through facilitated discussions and shared experiences, members explore the interplay between their identities, aspirations, and roles within their communities.

The program is intricately woven into the USJC Annual Conference, providing participants with opportunities to connect with alumni, engage in broader organizational initiatives, and contribute to the evolving narrative of U.S.-Japan relations.

Recognizing the richness of diverse perspectives, ALC brings together individuals from various geographies, industries, and cultural backgrounds, including participants from both the U.S. and Japan. This cross-cultural exchange enriches dialogues, fosters mutual understanding, and strengthens the fabric of the USJC community.
