Mie Baylon is the Finance & Operations Coordinator for the U.S.-Japan Council (USJC), where she integrates her deep financial expertise with a passion for organizational efficiency. Mie holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from San Diego State University, providing her with a unique balance of analytical precision and interpersonal communication.
With a professional background spanning healthcare, hospitality, and banking, Mie has excelled in diverse roles including Office Manager, Executive Assistant, and Accountant. Her multifaceted experience allows her to navigate complex operational challenges while maintaining rigorous financial standards.
Born and raised in Japan and having attended university in both Japan and the United States, Mie brings a vital bicultural perspective to the Council. This background fosters her deep appreciation for USJC’s mission and informs her unique approach to building sustainable bridges between the two nations.
Outside of her professional life, Mie is a dedicated wife and mother of three boys. She is an avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast who enjoys snowboarding, paddle boarding, and spending time with her family and their Shih Tzu.
