Mio Vestuti

Program Coordinator

Mio Vestuti is a Program Coordinator at the U.S.-Japan Council, based in Washington, D.C. Her primary responsibilities include supporting the mission of USJC’s signature, regional, and educational programs.

Before joining USJC, she worked in Japan as a marimba player and event organizer. Her performances spanned a wide range of venues, including concert halls, contemporary art museums, temples, and senior care facilities, with a focus on making the arts accessible to broader audiences. In addition to her work in the arts, she taught English to high school students at a cram school. Her interest in cross-cultural education grew from her experience studying in Boston, where living and learning in a new environment broadened her perspective. Through supporting students as they explored their academic interests and future career paths, she further developed a strong interest in youth development. These experiences deepened her commitment to creating opportunities that broaden perspectives and connect people across communities and generations.

Originally from Okayama Prefecture, she holds a Master of Music in Marimba Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from Osaka Kyoiku University.
