There is strong hope for offshore wind power in Japan as well as Europe and the U.S. as means for decarbonization and energy security. Yet, there are many challenges mainly due to cost inflation and the other business environment.

In Japan, there have been developments going on along with the 2018 Act on Promoting the Utilization of Sea Areas for the Development of Marine Renewable Energy Power Generation Facilities. Further, in June this year, the Act was revised to expand the sea area for development to Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

On this occasion, we invite experts from both public and private sectors to the webinar to discuss the outlook and challenges of offshore wind power in Japan, learning lessons from experiences in Europe and the U.S.
