The Shin-Issei Networking is back by popular demand! This virtual event starts in English with a short talk on a pre-designated topic relevant to those who are more recent immigrants from Japan. The talk will be followed by a small group breakout discussion in either Japanese or English.
For many Shin-Isseis, how we learned the Japanese language and culture is probably very different from the way our children and other youth around you are learning them in the US. What do you do to pass on the bilingual/bicultural heritage to the next generations? What can we learn from each other?
