Join the Shin-Issei affinity group as they celebrate the start of the Year of the Snake with their annual tradition — a virtual Shinnenkai (New Year Gathering in Japanese) networking session. Experience Kakizome, a Japanese New Year tradition where participants write down their hopes, resolutions, or inspirational words to set intentions for the year ahead. They will have both English and Japanese breakout rooms available to suit each member’s language preference. 





The Shin-Issei affinity group hosts quarterly Zoom networking events focused on topics relevant to our identity as the newest Japanese Americans. Certain events are open to Shin-Issei members who are not yet part of USJC, allowing them to learn more about the organization. Other Shin-Issei programs, including networking events, the Shin-Issei Connection, and student outreach opportunities, are exclusively for USJC members.
