A Heartfelt Farewell and Thank You from Allison Murata

As this year comes to a close, I’ll be saying farewell to my role at USJC after 13 incredible years. It has been the great privilege of my career to work alongside so many inspiring members, program participants, colleagues, and community members who care deeply about the U.S.-Japan relationship.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of supporting programs and communities that truly represent the heart of USJC – from Membership to ELP, JALD, ALC, and so many others. Each one has shown me, again and again, the power of connection, collaboration, and shared purpose across generations and borders.

What has always made USJC so special to me is its people – especially our inspirational members who so generously give their time, energy, and leadership to support our shared mission. I began my journey at USJC working closely with Irene, and I often think about how proud she would be to see the Council’s legacy not only continuing, but growing stronger through all of you.

I’m deeply grateful for the friendships, mentorship, and countless memories that have come from this work, and for the trust and kindness so many of you have shown along the way. Thank you for making these past 13 years so meaningful. While I’ll be stepping away from my staff role, I look forward to staying part of this community that continues to inspire me every day.

Warmest Aloha,

Allison
