The U.S.-Japan Council is stunned and saddened by the news of the assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Mr. Abe worked tirelessly to strengthen the U.S.-Japan relationship. He was also a dear friend of the Council. Time and time again, he offered his support and encouragement for our work and mission. We join a global community in mourning his death.
