The DC Region had a very successful networking event on Sunday, June 26. Despite warm weather and competing public events, over 30 people gathered for a summer picnic at the home of Council Leader and Picnic Co-Chair Margaret Cummisky in Falls Church, Virginia. DC Regional Chair Janet Nuzum welcomed the crowd which included long-time members, new members, prospective members, and Embassy guests. The potluck buffet was overflowing with homemade delicacies including Japanese dishes, American grilled food and Hawaiian favorites. After lunch, kids splashed in the pool. For everyone else, Picnic Co-Chair Susan Morita led a competitive round of team trivia, focused on U.S.-Japan facts. Everyone agreed that the picnic was a great success, and appreciated Margaret Cummisky’s gracious hospitality. It was a glorious summer day!
