Aiko Harris

Director of Programs

Aiko Harris is the Director of Programs at the U.S.-Japan Council, working remotely from Kalamazoo, Michigan. Her primary responsibilities include developing, managing, and implementing both new and existing USJC signature, regional, and educational programs.

Before joining USJC, Aiko was a Lecturer at Eastern Washington University, where she taught rhetoric and composition and published scholarly work in College Composition & Communication and WAESOL Educator. She has presented her research at both regional and national conferences, and in 2019, she was invited to serve as a guest panelist at the Symposium for Women’s Career Advancement and Gender Equality Development at Mukogawa Women’s University in Japan.

Aiko holds an M.A. in English (TESL) from Eastern Washington University, as well as dual B.A. degrees in English from Mukogawa Women’s University and in Communication Studies (Public Relations) from Eastern Washington University.
