On September 23, TOMODACHI alumni in the Washington, DC area and their guests went to a DIY terrarium building event at PlantHouse in Alexandria, Virginia. Despite rain from Tropical Storm Ophelia, there was a great turnout. Participants had the opportunity to create their own terrariums with a variety of plants and decorations, and had a great time reconnecting with others (as well as meeting new alumni for the first time.) Colin Timmerman (2017 Daiwa House Student Leadership Conference V) said, “The terrarium event was a great opportunity to connect with other TOMODACHI alumni and friends while doing a fun, unique activity.”
