Nami Bagirimvano
Program Manager, TOMODACHI Initiative
Nami Bagirimvano is a seasoned professional with 15 years of experience in the field of International Education. She currently serves as the Program Manager for the TOMODACHI Initiative in the Tokyo Office. In this role, Nami oversees the management and development of TOMODACHI programs for participants in collaboration with stakeholders.
Throughout her career, Nami has held various positions in international program offices within different types of higher education institutions in the United States. Her most recent role involved leading a team as the director for a sponsored students & special programs office at a large sized state institution. In this capacity, Nami provided leadership in managing recruitment, admission, and support for both non-degree and degree-seeking sponsored international students and scholars such as Fulbright students and scholars. This included collaborating with campus offices, communicating with sponsoring organizations, writing grant proposals, and overseeing custom short-term international programs. Nami is thrilled to bring her experiences to the U.S.-Japan Council and looks forward to contributing to the organization's goals and creating lasting impacts on the next generation. Nami holds a Master of Arts in International Education from SIT Graduate Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Ehime University, Japan.
